This week we continue to consider how the Enemy raises questions that seek to divert us from following the truth and goodness of the One True God. We also consider how Jesus, our Victorious King, has stripped and shamed the “powers” and has destroyed the Devil’s tyrannical use of death to keep people enslaved through fear.

This week we begin to consider the schemes of our Enemy by thinking about the questions that are raised in the stories of the early books of the Hebrew Scriptures. Will we listen to God’s voice or to some other competing voice? Will we submit to God’s gracious rule or will we seek to rule ourselves? These are just a couple of the key questions that we consider.

In our first class of Phase 1 we consider our two relentless and untamable enemies in the Great War: The Devil and the Sin that lives within us. We also consider the spheres or the contexts of their operations: The World and our Flesh.
